Lots to do offline also

Fascinated by social media like Twitter and Facebook? Relax…it’s not a magic new business acquisition tool.

Have you recently decided to devote some time and effort to Social Media and neglect your corporate website that has never brought an enquiry? You are one of many that may have fallen for the self publishing and self promotional trap that SM gives you. You can now talk about yourself and your company all day! Maybe you are doing it correctly but if you are just doing promotional type tweets, you are boring us all to death.

Please don’t forget offline! People still like a friendly phone call or a letter from people they already know. Most businesses have old customer data scattered all over the filing cupboard and in other information silos. Information is the gold in your company. Use it.
How have your customers and clients changed? Have you actually spoken with them recently? Or have you gone paperless office, email newsletters and 100% digital, baby?

Remember we are all human and like the personal touch.

  • Get on the phone.
  • Write a letter.
  • Visit people.
  • Listen.

And put some photos on that website, just in case you have a website visitor that is looking for a human face in the digital world.

Look approachable, normal and honest. We all like that. Unless you want to be just an avatar, logo or anonymous online “thing.”
