Contemporary Designer Furniture…a website review
1.What did you hope that your website would do for your company?
What is/was your website strategy?
…Increased visitors and new business from these visitors
2. Why should I deal with this company?
Trust, differentiation and availability
Very few unique USPs and lacks differentiation. Website layout resembles another similar site in designer furniture. I don’t know who copied who.
3. Will Google and humans also like this website?
- Correctly written online copy and tags …3/10 Practically no on page copy other than product descriptions. Description and keyword tags unused…therefore misses out on approx 10% of traffic that comes from other search engines. 2 other tags are also missing. On page SEO…3/10.
- Text, Fonts and Colours…3/10 Writing too small and too pale. Excellent graphics. No alt tags on images.
- Tone and Voice. You and We…. Does not address the feelings or aspirations of the visitor. No NLP. It is a brochure style website with few benefit statements. Old style promo copy unsuitable for online consumption.
- Calls to Action and Enquiry Forms. 3/10 …enquiry forms are too long and not enough CTAs.
4. Is this a corporate inward looking online brochure or an outward looking customer centric website?
Designed for Lead generation, Brand Reinforcement, B2B, B2C, Ecommerce?
….Brochure style, inward looking, very few benefit statements, mainly product details. No remarkable distinctions from other similar sites.
5. Likelihood of achieving a commercial success with your website.
…4/10 Not enough visitors will convert.. Company positioned as a furniture wholesaler, not as an expert in designer furniture. Any off page SEO will have limited effect as the on page SEO is almost non-existent.
6. A proposed agenda to repair, scrap, keep or improve your website.
Online copy and all metatags need to be correctly written and incorporated. Existing image, URL formatting and structure are OK. Stop any off page SEO until this is fixed. Avoid links from “content farms” as they can have a negative impact on SEO. Internal linking needs a review as there are some incongruent links and landing pages. There was huge potential revealed in the PPC stats for highly targeted search phrases and these need on page SEO work. There is much to like about the image of the site and the large range of products but these will not be easily found on Google or other search engines.
