No more exposure please
Monday, October 1st, 2007I got an inquiry from a ball bearing and industrial products company based in Hertfordshire to supply some Lubcon grease products. I explained that I no longer represent them (Lubcon), thank God, but I could tell them where to get the products.
In addition to providing them the information, I offered them a 2 month free trial on my website www.lubricants.co.uk that attracts over 120,000 visits per year. It would have made them very busy with enquiries. I only asked for a small link back to my site to improve my website ranking for a particular phrase and it was met with “we don’t want any more exposure and we don’t want to give you a link”. Well, thanks for that! Does St. Albans breed this level of low life humanity?
This level of narrow mindedness and ignorance is very common in the small scale industrial distributorships that are dotted around the UK. Very few have long term strategies, just make a buck today style. There are a few professional companies that still exist. If you are looking for one, just ask me for details.
